Kamtapur Liberation Organization (KLO) has stirred controversy by demanding a hefty sum of Rs 5 crore from North Bengal Development Minister Udayan Guha within a span of 10 days. The demand was conveyed through a letter sent via WhatsApp, according to information provided by Minister Guha himself.

Expressing concern over the communication, Guha lodged a complaint with the Superintendent of Police of Cooch Behar and Dinhata police station. Additionally, he blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the recent election violence in Cooch Behar, asserting that without their interference, the elections would have proceeded more peacefully.

Guha also confidently predicted victories for all three Trinamool Congress candidates contesting Lok Sabha seats in the first phase.

Police has arrested KLO militant, Harishankar Barman in the case. He used to work as a linkman sending him to nine-day police remand on Wednesday.
